Seeing The World Around You Clearly
On a recent flight I sat next to a man who travels frequently for his business. He was from Germany, but travels several times a year to various places around the world for meeting with their foreign manufacturing companies.
For those of us who wear glasses. Foreign travel can sometimes hold some concern. What are we going to do if we lose our glasses? What happens if they get scratched, broken, or stolen? How will I manage if I don’t have any glasses at all?
Being in a foreign country and being without clear vision is a scary prospect for most people. One way to help is to travel with a second pair of glasses. If you go to your regular eye doctor, that can be an expensive prospect for a pair of glasses that might never get use. Cheap eyeglasses would be the way to go, but where can you get them?
ZENNI is an online source of very inexpensive glasses. Taking a look at their web site there are glasses with lenses for as little as $6.95. I even called their toll free number, because I could figure out how to price a pair for myself. The person on the other end of the line was very knowledgeable and assured me that they were there to make sure you ordered the right kind of frame and lenses for your particular prescription. The total price depends on what kind of lens you need, as well as any other extras you might want to have added to the lens, but it looks like you can get a basic emergency pair of glasses for around $20, which makes having even more than one extra pair an option. This makes giving yourself some peace about being able to ensure your vision during travels easy on your pocketbook.
If I didn’t already have a pair of emergency glasses, I’d certainly be giving them a try. However, I do travel in foreign countries and purchased a second set a number of years ago, just because I didn’t want to be traveling in a foreign country and not able to see much beyond an arms length away from me.
