Latest Tips, Tools, & Technology to Build Your Business
Putting The Cart Before The Horse
I’ve been trying to work on preparing to open a new business lately. I was contemplating how things are going and I have to admit, terrible. I don’t seem to be taking my own advice. I keep getting drawn this direction and that. Someone says, “do this,” someone else, “do that.” I keep finding that I’m not doing what I know is the best track.
You may find yourself in those shoes, too, especially if there is little or no flow of income at the moment, and you’re responsible to bring some in. You want so badly for the business to be up and running already, that you end up putting it further and further behind, by wrong decisions and spending your time on the wrong things.
Time for me to take my own advice and stick with the steps I know need to be completed before I try to open a business. I can still work on my skills, as I need to improve my computer skills considerably in this web site crazy time, but I also need to spend some time every day starting from the beginning and getting everything prepared for a successful launch.
So, look at your own schedule. Is it set up to meet other people’s requirements or are you doing what you know you need to do to make your business a success, even if it takes more time than others want it to, even if you have to go an extra week, month, or quarter without any income. Will it be worth it if your new business succeeds right off?!
